I Remember
Chapter 7
"Do you truly not remember our missions together?" Casper asked as he started up his laptop and insert the flash drive.
"No. Not completely. It comes back in bits and pieces."
"Valerie, the mission in Columbia..." Casper began to recall.
Val cut him off, "Something went wrong."
"You were shot twice in the back. I was tracking everything and hacked the original medical files before they were changed."
Valerie stopped stunned, "The only other person on the mission with me was Ray."
"Who is now running the agency with Lucas. They have this weird bromance." Casper tried to make a light joke.
"Casper I need to fully remember that mission or me getting to the bottom of things won't work."
"I agree, take a look at this. It was Lucas's idea to go on the mission. He set up the entire thing."
"Babe! I came home early! Where are you?" Eric yelled from the front door.
"Is that your husband?" Casper said shutting his lap top and sliding her the flash drive.
Eric walked into the kitchen and stopped when he saw Casper and Val sitting at the table. Valerie stood up, "Bill, thank you so much for coming by and notifying me about those electrical changes." Valerie changed character.
"No problem ma'am."
"Electrical changes?" Eric asked in a suspicious tone.
"The power went out babe and I was concerned." Val noted.
"Have a good night." Casper said while leaving.
"You came home early."
Eric looked at the front door and back at Val, "Yea, I finished things at my parent's business."
"I missed you." she said while kissing him.
"Are you feeling okay?" Eric asked.
"Yes."
The following morning Val went for a run around the block. She met back up with Casper. He was too important and obviously knew more about the agency than she did. "I need you to tap someone's phone for me." Val requested.
"Your therapist?" Casper noted.
"Yes, how did you know?"
"The agency assigned her. She isn't someone random. They picked her to keep tabs once you got your memories back."
Valerie sipped some water while thinking about her next move, "They want me back."
"Yea, you were the best agent they had. One of the most lethal."
"Then I will go back." Val agreed.
"You need to remember first!" Casper yelled as she took off running.
Valerie showered, and took her time to get dressed to prepare to visit the therapist office. "Headed out honey?" Eric asked while walking up behind her and kissing her neck.
"Yes, I am going to see the therapist." she said while finishing style her bun in her hair. Eric walked out of the bathroom and Val loaded her gun.
She drove downtown and parked ready to walk into the therapist office with a different agenda. She was vulnerable weeks ago, but now she is picking back up. She just needs the final details before returning back to the beginning.
"Valerie, please have a seat! So glad you came back. You stormed out last time." The therapist said while shutting the door. Once she turned around Valerie was smiling at her.
"I am glad to be back."
"Yes, so what do you want to discuss this time."
"I know you specialize in therapeutic memory loss using hypnotism."
"Valerie..."
"Don't lie to me. It's insulting."
"I do, but your memories..."
"You will help me remember them, or it is simple...you don't go home." Valerie threatened.
The therapist sat up in the chair and stared back at her. She was nervous realizing who she was dealing with.
Valerie continued, "I know you know I am dangerous..."
The therapist nodded, "Fine. I will help you remember."
